Even the best rider in the world cannot help the NPP’s “horse” bring the party a victory – Abraham Amaliba

The Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba, says no candidate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presents in 2024 can match his party’s in the presidential elections.

He said the NPP “horse” is so weak that it cannot bring the party a win if the rider is even the best in the world.

Speaking on the opening of nominations of the ruling party on Friday, May 26 on TV3‘s New Day, Mr Amaliba, who discussed two of the aspirants – Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kyerematen who are considered the frontrunners, said Ghanaians will look at the economy when they go to the polls in 2024 and not who will be the candidates.

On Vice President Bawumia, he said: “You see him, you see lies. You see him, you see a joker.”

On Mr Kyerematen, Mr Amaliba said the former Trades Minister failed to call the government to order in messing up the economy.

“He sat too long. He has been smeared. He needs to rebrand and that will take him another four years.”

For the NDC official, “it doesn’t matter who comes”.

He said by the actions and policy decisions of the government, families have been killed.

“This government has blood dripping in its hands,” he insisted.

After opening nominations on Friday, the NPP begins the process to elect its flgabearer for next year’s election.

All things being equal, the party has set Saturday, November 4 for the primaries.
