The chief executive officer of the Ghana National petroleum Corporation is set to make a whooping amount of $200,000 every mouth after a successful sale of 50 percent share of the Jubilee field.
The GNPC is in the process of selling the most profitable oil field to a South African oil company, Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (PetroSA).
Those leading to push the deal to the detriment of the nation are the board chairman of GNPC Hon. Frederick Worsemao Blay and the CEO Opoku Awhene Danquah with gigantic amount for the south African company to own 50% of jubilee field.
I deep throat source revealed that,in other for the deal to go through, the CEO alone will be receiving almost $ 200,000 as a take home every month.
Due to the bad and corrupt nature of the agreement, over 27 civil society organizations (CSOs) including the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC), Imani Centre for Policy and Education and other 25
have called for the dismissal of the CEO and the board chairman to save the corporation.
The Jubilee field is one of the three oil-producing fields in Ghana, operated by Tullow Ghana on behalf of the Jubilee Partners.
This year, the government of Ghana, according to the PIAC report recorded its highest revenue of $1.43 billion from oil production.
