Dr. Abed Bandim re-elected NDC parliamentary candidate for Bunkpurugu

Five Hundred and Sixty (560) delegates have granted victory to the Incumbent Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Abed Bandim for the Bunkpurugu Constituency in the north east region of Ghana after today’s (Saturday,13-05-2023) polls.

A total of 919 delegated were expected to cast their votes at Jilig community where the voting took place, but only 909 voters turn out to vote.

At the end of polls, this was declared by the EC for the parliamentary.

Hon. Dr. Abed Bandim (Incumbent) pulled 560 votes, Hon. Ambrose Moisob got 194 votes , Hon. Tahidu Jagong got 141 votes and Hon. Alhassan Langbongang got 11 votes, total valid votes is 908, total votes cast is 909, total rejected is 1and total delegates list is 919.

With the presidential, the contest was between former president John Dramani Mahama and former mayor of Kumasi Hon, Kojo Bonsu, from the ECs declaration, John Dramani Mahama pulled 870 votes, leaving Kojo Bonsu with just 27 votes, total votes cast is 908, and total rejected is 11. 919 delegates were expected to come vote.

Voting started at 7am and ended at about 4:45pm. The election was conducted by the electoral commission and supervised by a team from the regional NDC party office in Nalerigu -North East Region.

The re-elected MP, in an interview, told Lom Cummunity Radio, that he will soon be looking for the best and most appropriate ways to seek for a team play with his colleagues who gave him a tuff time contest. I must say that, this is just an in house exercise and I can only say the win is for all ndc members in this constituency, the heaviest task for now will be for me to initiate steps on how I can get my colleagues (Ambrose, Tahidu and Alhassan) for us to work together for victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections. I cannot do it alone. Hon Abed added.
