Ningo Prampram lawmaker Samuel Nartey George has said he is ready to offer ideas on how to resolve the challenges with the SIM card registration exercise.
There have been reports of numbers linked to other peoples’ Ghana Cards.
This has forced the National Communications Authority (NCA) in partnership with the Telcos to create a system that enables the public to verify the number of SIM cards linked to their Ghana Cards. The system started Monday, May 1, 2023.
“There will be no need for Subscribers to physically go to the Telco to verify same when the shortcode is operational, by the end of April 2023, after the testing has been completed and approved,” the NCA said.
Commenting on this development in a tweet, Sam George said “I made these comments almost 8 months ago.
“I guess time has vindicated me. People should just learn a bit of humility when they are technically challenged. I remain ready to offer advice if only those in charge are willing to take it.”
