English fluency should not be confused with competence – Prez Mahama to Ghanaians

Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked suffering Ghanaians not to confuse proficiency in English with competency.

According to him, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can speak all the “slang” in American and British English and but cannot deliver on the promises he made to Ghanaians.

”When I was in government, they spoke all the good English and called me incompetent even the word incompetent they gave a slang to it,” he added.

He said Nana Addo’s proficiency in English did not necessarily translate into better leadership abilities so Ghanaians should not vote for his party in the upcoming elections but vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to come and rescue the country.
