Bono East Regional Youth Wing Condemns Bryan Acheampong’s Reckless Comment

Our attention has been drawn to a comment purported to have been made by one Bryan Acheampong. A member of the ruling new patriotic party.

He is quoted to have said that, the ruling Npp will do everything possible NOT to hand over “power” to the NDC in 2024 elections.

We the youth leaders in NDC, especially Bono East, does not only consider his statement as reckless, but also senseless, irresponsible, unpatriotic and dishonorable of a member of Ghana’s prestigious parliament.

We want to assure the Npp, that the youth are ever ready and prepared to protect and preserve the constitution of this country at all cost. We won’t down play and treat Bryan’s and other comments, most of his cohorts have made, including that of the president as mare political talks. For such comments to have been made by members of the ruling party is like a blind man telling you he will stone you.

These and several unguarded comments from the Npp makes us feel like revenging the lives of the youth that were wasted in Techiman during the 2020 elections. Isn’t it therefore surprising that, nothing has come out of the investigation that was commissioned into the gruesome murder of those innocent youth, whose crime was just to witness a democratic process.

In another breath, Bryan’s reckless comments reminds us of the NEED to adequately prepare to protect ourselves in the next election.

Having said these, we wish to also add our voice to the calls for the IGP to quickly intervene and probe Bryan Acheampong’s comment as it has the tendency to disstabilize our young democracy as a nation.

Signed
SAMARI ABDULAI
REGIONAL YOUTH ORGANIZER (NDC)
BONO EAST.
