I accepted blame for the energy crisis even though I didn’t cause it; Akufo-Addo doesn’t take responsibility – President Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for not taking responsibility for the economic challenges.

Mr Mahama explained that the first step to solving the problems is for the President to admit his fault and bring everybody around the table to solve them.

During a campaign tour and interaction with delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Awutu Senya in the Central Region on Tuesday, March 27, he said when he was President of Ghana, he accepted blame for the energy crisis that hit the country and promised to solve it even though it was not his fault.

The same conduct he said cannot be said about President Akufo-Addo.

“They don’t listen to advice, they don’t accept their mistake and so they are not able to learn from their mistakes. Still, they are not accepting responsibility for the woes of the Cedi.

“I didn’t cause the energy crisis, it was caused by a lack of generational addiction for many years but I went to Parliament and took responsibility for it and said I would fix it.

“That is what leadership is about but this is a president who can’t take responsibility.”
