Ghanaians, party supporters in pain, agony over your decision – Apaak to NDC MP’s

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South has lashed out at his colleagues Members of Parliament on the Minority side who could not vote against President Akufo-Addo’s six new ministerial nominees.

The National Executives of the NDC in a statement signed by General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey directed the party’s MPs to reject the recently announced nominees in protest of President Akufo-Addo’s refusal to downsize his government.

However, after a heated debate and voting all the six ministerial nominees by the President were approved on Friday March 24, 2023 through secret balloting in the chamber.

At the end of secret voting, Kwabena Tahir Hammond who is the nominee to the Trade and Industry Ministry secured 154 Yes, 116 No votes. Mr. Bryan Acheampong, nominee to the Ministry of Agriculture had 167 Yes, 98 No votes and the rest of the nominees namely Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Mohammed Amin Adam, O.B Amoah and Dr. Stephen Amoah were all voted for by majority decision.

Commenting on the development the Builsa lawmaker in letter expressed disgust over the decision by a section of his colleagues to go against the party’s directive to reject the President’s nominees.

“Dear Traitor, I pray you are found out and publicly shamed, but even if you are not found out, your conscience will forever haunt you.

“The pain and agony of your treachery has caused millions of party supporters and Ghanaians is upon your head,” Mr. Apaak stated.

He continued: “You will pay for the tears and sorrow of all those you have betrayed. You will pay for the insults, name calling and false accusations your treachery has brought upon innocent colleagues.

“May you never find peace until you confess, repent and ask for forgiveness.”
