To point finger at Adutwum for collecting monies for schools placement ‘absurd’ – Mark Ewusi to Manasseh

The National Youth Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mark Ewusi, has lauded investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni for his recent exposé but indicated that pointing fingers at the sector minister as directly complicit is “absurd” and “untrue”.

Mr Ewusi insists that findings of such works should be based on truthfulness rather than destroying the reputations of state officials.

“Corruption is bad and no body should be spared when caught but speculation without evidence is making the fight difficult and noble men seem dirty,” he stated on Monday, February 13.

Describing Manasseh’s recent work as “excellent”, he advised the journalist to rather help to “find a lasting solution to speculation that tend to demoralize hard working individuals in our public space”.

“Let’s take the exposé on the CSSPS serious and entreat the Ghana Police Service and all essential state institutions to investigate with all seriousness,” he recommended, pointing out that the lists captured under protocol are from stakeholders “essential in the development of our educational system and as a result should not be deprived their quota in the school placement”.

This follows an investigative work by the ace investigative journalist, who traced the placement of some “unqualified” students in Grade A schools after payment of bribes.

According to the protocols, the only persons with access to the Grade A schools are the sector minister and, so, the malfeasance was traced to him.
