Serial Callers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sunyani Municipality have announced their decision to boycott radio discussions as regular callers for the party.
The move according to a press release from the callers says the decision comes following the government’s failure to help facilitate the completion of the Sunyani-New-Dormaa-Kotokrom-Yawhima-Techiman road which to them is making the government and the NPP unpopular in the Bono region.
Speaking with Mark Abisah, host of Suncity Morning Drive, chairman of the serial callers for the NPP in Sunyani East and West municipalities Mr. Asomah Salia popularly known as “2 Pac” disclosed that, it has become difficult for the group to defend the party as a result of the government’s inability to complete the Sunyani-New-Dormaa-Kotokrom-Yawhima-Techiman road.
Mr. Asomah revealed that, they are constantly insulted and threatened by people living in the vicinity due to the dusty nature of the road hence the decision to boycott radio discussions.
He added that, the dusty nature of the road has become a threat to human lives especially asthmatic patients and school children. The road is equally affecting economic activities in the community.
The group is therefore, appealing to the government especially the ministry of roads and transport and the finance ministry to pay attention to the Sunyani-New-Dormaa-Kotokrom-Yawhima-Techiman road to have it fixed.
