We, members of the group above wish to commend and thank National leadership of our great party for the recent strategic reshuffle in the leadership of the minority group in parliament.
We also commend the immediate past Minority leadership under the leadership of the venerable and affable Hon Haruna Iddrisu for its hard work and enviable successes when given the opportunity by the party to lead the caucus.
It’s our strong believe that the changes as announced by the National leadership is not only timely but also strategic and would help inject new ideas, energy and verve into the work of the caucus in parliament with the view to positioning the party for the electoral battle and ultimate victory in 2024.
We wish to declare our unflinching support and solidarity for the new leadership under Hon Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and pray for almighty God’s guidance and protection.
We also appeal to the Minority Caucus in Parliament to respect the decision of the leadership and it’s our expectation that the new leadership would further improve the performance of the caucus by holding the feet of this failed and corrupt NPP Govt of Akufo Addo/Bawumia Govt to the fire of accountability.
Change is the only constant factor in the scheme of things but may come with mixed feelings, however, the ability of the party to take the necessary steps to sanitize the fluid situation cannot be overemphasized.
We also appeal to leadership of the party to consider codifying the criteria for appointing parliamentary leadership to deepen our democratic credentials as the party of choice.
Finally, we call on the new leadership to work very fast to bring all on board as already indicated by the new leader, Hon Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson in his Press Conference on Thursday, 26th January, 2023.
