Government reintroduces admission quota to Colleges of Education

The Government of Ghana has reintroduced admission quota to Colleges of Education for the 2022/2023 academic year.

In a letter to the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) confirming the information, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has outlined list of Colleges of Education with their respective admission quota for the 2022/2023 academic year.

According to the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission Professor Mohammed Salifu, the allocation for Public Colleges of Education approved cannot be varied and must strictly be adhered.

Drawing the attention of National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) to the permissible admission figures for entry into Level 100 at the Colleges of Education in the 2022/2023 academic year, Prof. Mohammed Salifu of GTEC said, for avoidance of doubts, payment of Feeding Grants, and Trainees Allowance will be guided by the enrolment figures as directed.

It’s expected that, management of Colleges of Education and Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education obey the directive to meet the required quota as announced.
