Accra: Fire destroys shops at Kantamanto market

Thousands of cedis’ worth of goods and shops were damaged by a fire that broke out at the Kantamanto market in Accra on Tuesday morning.

At the moment, there is no information on what started the fire that destroyed the stores near the railroad tracks at Kantamanto Market.

More than 15 shops have been destroyed by the fire, an eyewitness who goes by the name Charles, told masemtvgh.com.

The Ghana National Fire Service employees, according to his narration, ran out of water and were unable to put out the fire.

The fire is blazing, he added, and more fire service units have arrived at the scene to attempt and put it out.

No casualties have been reported as of yet.
