Be Circumspect With Your Utterances In Your Campaign -ndc Gallant Soldiers Warn Ofosu Ampofo

As our party constitution mandates any elected officer of the party a four year mandate of service, so shall there be time where another elections be conducted for another set of leadership, and December 17, 2022 is of no exception. We thank the leadership of the party at all levels for respecting the constitution as such.

Fellow Akatamansions, there are some critical issues which will dent on the future and prospects of the party going into 2024 if not addressed.

To begin with, our attention has been drawn to a mischievous message carried by the supporters and members of Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo’s campaign team that, decision by Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia to contest for National Chairman was wrong and not a well thought through decision.

We will want to state unequivocally clear that, that statement by Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in his promo, yet to be aired by Adom Fm/Tv is rather unfortunate. For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly known in the political and media space as ‘General Mosquito’ has demonstrated leadership, by proving to let us know of he’s aimed at nothing but NDC and Ghana’s victory come 2024.

To enlighten you further, it is obvious that, across the length and breadth of the country, especially where the interest of the party is to be protected and the image of the party preserved, the only person you will first see is Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah (General Mosquito).

Taking into account the election of Ghana’s first opposition Speaker, Banda and Dormaa West EC’s limited registration exercise round up to the 2020 general elections amongst others. Defending and reclaiming our legitimate parliamentary seats which were forcefully and illegitimately taken from us through the state machinery and NPP militia groups, typically of it were the Sene West and the Salverigu. Also representing the party in its legal battle for parliamentary seats like Jomoro, Takwa Nsuaem, Techiman South, Sefwi Wiawso amongst others.

We would want to ask Mr. Ofosu Ampofo that, at that time that the party was counting on him to show leadership, where was he and what was his input as the National Chairman and leader of the Party?

Secondly, one of the unfortunate messages carried out to the delegates and the general public is that, “chairmanship is not a popular contest but a strategic contest”. We find it very difficult to understand why a politician like Mr. Ampofo will allow his team to carry across such a message.

We would want to ask which political party or politician can win elections without the “popularity factor”? How can you do a business without advertising?
Even to let that one slide, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo and his campaign team should, retract that unfortunate statement and render an unqualified apology to the personality of Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, because had it not been him( Hon. John Asiedu Nketia) because this is an unpardonable statement against his personality, forgetting that, he had the opportunity to become the local government minister through the strategic initiative of the dynamic, strategic, fearless and selfless general secretary, who mobilized the party people to stage and mount pressure on the EC to prevent them from skewing the elections to the favor of the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP in 2008.

This bold initiative by Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia compelled the EC to rescind it’s decision to organize election for the people of Tain, which declared the NDC and Prof. Mills of blessed memory winners of the general elections, even though this was supposed to be his work as a national organizer.

His strategic initiative and results oriented personality, added five additional seats to the parliamentary seats won by the party in the Bono region, his home region.
If you claim this is not strategic enough, show us your strategic results in the Eastern Region.

Furthermore, we are fully aware of flyers and write ups circulating on various media platforms that, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo is not tribalistic, which is to say his opponent is. For the records, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has never been engaged in tribal politics throughout his political career, but on several occasions has Mr. Ofosu Ampofo does so. To set the records straight, Mr Ofosu Ampofo is highly interested in protecting the Akyem territory rather than his political mandate. It would be recalled that prior to the 2020 general elections, when the NDC visited the Eastern Region, specifically Nkawkaw Zongo, where President Mahama, made the popular “ Akyem Sakawa Mafias” comment, with Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo being unhappy with that comment, retaliated by responding in the closing remark that “ If I hadn’t being an Akyem, I would have said, the sword cutting is Sakawa, but as long as I remain an Akyem true son, I will say it’s a 419 sword cutting”. Making such a rebuttal in the face of President Mahama at the same location, contradicts the flag-bearer’s earlier statement, which in referrals indict Mahama as attacking the entire Akyem fraternity because he’s not one of them, a reason for that comment.
His comment incited the entire Akyem community against JM and the aftermath of it, we all can attest to it. Meanwhile, on a similar platform given to Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia in his home region, Wenchi to be precise, told the traditional authorities emphatically clear that” Nananom, a lot of people vote based on ancestry history, and example is, Prof. Busia, a founding member of the NPP is from Wenchi, so shall I vote for the NPP, and Nananom, it’s the reason for the stagnant growth and development in Wenchi”
And with his strategic and dynamic political approach to Wenchi, NDC won the seat for the first time.
We would also want him to come out to clear the air of his strategy he mounted or initiated that garnered us the significant number of seats won.

Sadly enough, we hear from the supporters and members of Mr. Ofosu Ampofo’s campaign team that, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah is a desperate and greedy politician, we would therefore want to ask these few questions and would demand answers from Mr. Ampofo and his team, Someone who left the party position for government appointment after winning the 2008 general elections and the one who stayd and works for the party to make the party how it is today, who’s more desperate for power or who can better be described as a greedy politician?
We leave these questions to you also, ladies and gentlemen and members of our great Party.
