Provide all the documents to my client Ofori-Atta before the investigation begins – Gabby tells Minority.

Counsel for Finance Minister, Gabby Otchere-Darko has asked the Minority Members of Parliament to furnish his client Mr Ken Ofori-Atta with all the documents they intend to rely on during the investigation by the 8-member ad hoc committee.

He believes that in the interest of fairness and justice, all the documents should be provided to the Minister for him to adequately respond to each of the seven charges against him.

Mr Ofori-Atta is answering seven charges which include personally benefiting from government bonds.

“Our issue is simple…furnish us with all the documents in respect of each of the seven charges against Ofori-Atta before this process begins.

“We want the charges to be complete with the particulars,” Mr Otchere-Darko said on first day of the Committee hearing on Tuesday November 15.

A Co-chair of the Committee, Dr Dominic Ayine said that the documents being relied on are public documents.

He said some of them were authored by the Finance Minister therefore “Some of the documents are in the custody of the Finance Minister.”

With guidance from the committee, Mr Otchere-Darko allowed for proceedings to start.
