Sustainable Engagement Is Key To Asante Gold Mines Development In Bibiani – Bibianihene Tell’s Assembly

The Chief of Bibiani Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II has payed a courtesy call to the entire Bibiani Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly Members and authorities to deliberate on how Bibiani as a community can team up to handle issue between Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited, so that the mines will get their peace of mind to work effectively.

The chief of Bibiani first sustainable engagement meeting was held at Kumasi Golden Tulip on Friday 14th October, 2022 whiles the Asante Gold Corporation unveiled themselves to Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II.

There was a dissatisfied agitations and misunderstanding between the youth of Bibiani community and the Asante Gold Corporation; Thus, Mesin Gold Bibiani about the communities dissatisfaction of the terms and the conditions that they spelled out during their previous meeting held at various destinations which compounded to various demonstrations leading to injuries lost of lifes and properties.

Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II assured the community of their involvement in the company as well employment is concerned.

 

Speaking with Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II, he indicated that, the Municipal assembly is the paramount in all developmental projects in the community so they have to sit up with the mines and let them understand that they have a cooperate and social responsibility of making sure the town benefit from the mining proceeds for the betterment of the people in the mining area.

He also brought them to understand that there must be a secretariat to take care of employment and a data for all eligible youth members so that when there is a job opportunity there we go straight to data and get all those who qualified will get easy access to that position. When this is done a lot of the youth in the community will get employment and pay tax for the development of the community and the country as a whole

He finally advised the municipal assembly to team up with the people and Nananom to make sure that the the mines comply with the laws of the country as it is stipulated to them and in much the same way the community should also due same for the whole world to know that the mining activities coming to Bibiani community has been a blessing in disguise but not a curse.

The Coordinating Director of Bibiani Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal assembly Mr. Yahaya Mohammed promised Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II and the entire members of Bibiani communities that, they don’t know more details about the plans or policies governing the people’s of the mining communities.

He therefore appeal to the chief and the Bibiani communities as well as the entire Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality that, he will stand firm to support Bibiani Chief and the authorities of Bibiani to fight for the people’s of Bibiani communities to get what they must to get from the Asante Gold Corporation.
