A former Attorney General, Betty Mould Idrissu has said NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is competent to lead the congress as its national chairman ahead of the 2024 polls.
Speaking at a ceremony to launch the campaign of Mr Asiedu Nketiah, the NDC stalwart credited General Mosquito with her success in politics.
“He [Asiedu Nketiah] took my hands and led me into politics,” she stated while pointing to the courageous nature of Asiedu Nketiah.
Recounting the previous elections, especially the 2020 polls which won the NDC more seats in Parliament, Madam Betty Mould stated that Asiedu Nketiah has always been faithful to the party at all times.
“This man General Asiedu Nketiah has never let us down. His bravery is not in question,” she rallied party delegates to get him the topmost job in NDC to win power for the umbrella family.
To her, Asiedu Nketiah is a “man who commands respect internationally” and is the right person to be the chairman of the party.
Campaign Launch
The event attracted large number of party influencers including, former ministers and Members of Parliament among others.
The minority side of Parliament was led by MP for Banda and Deputy Chief Whip, Mr Ahmed Ibrahim.
Present also were MP for Ellembelle Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, MP for Techiman North, Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, Buem MP, Kofi Adams, MP for New Edubiase who all came to support their General Secretary.
The program which was held at the Karma Conference Center was attended by various constituency, regional and national NDC executives.
Mr Asiedu Nketia, who has been the party’s Chief scribe for the past 17years is highly optimistic of taking over the leadership of the party to roll an all out grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2024 elections.
