We Have witnessed the worst hardship than 1983-prof Gyampo to Akuffo Addo

Prof. Ransford Gyamp, a prominent lecturer at the University of Ghana (UG), Legon, has bemoaned the ongoing suffering in the nation.

On Saturday, October 1, he accused President Akufo-Addo of lying when he claimed that Ghana has enough money but that its citizens are suffering in a post on his Facebook page.

On Friday, October 30, 2022, he published a message on his official Facebook page. He wrote:

You said, “Y3 te sika so nanso okom de y3n,” President Akufo Addo. We had faith that you would take care of this.

However, in comparison to 1983, your term has seen the harshest sufferings and the most cognitively retarded inflation.

Professor Gyampo claims that Ghanaians had faith in Akufo-Addo to demonstrate that their country was in fact sitting on gold.

Background

The comments made by Prof. Gyampo came in response to Ghana’s current economic situation.

As a result, Ghana has been negotiating a bailout with the IMF. The administration claims that the impacts of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the COVID-19 pandemic are to blame for the current misery.

The government’s aforementioned claim was somewhat disputed by several Ghanaians.

They contend that government corruption and economic mismanagement are to blame for the current economic disaster.
