Dr Bawumia Is Not Even As Potent As A Paracetamol To Cure Our Ailing Economic – Beatrice Annan

A member of the communication team for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Beatrice Annan has questioned the economic competence of Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

She says everyone’s professional competence comes into play when faced with difficulties and complex challenges in their field but the Vice President has not come to bear in the midst of Ghana’s current economic crisis.

‘’If you are a professional, your professional competence come to play when you are faced with a challenge in your professional field.

“So if you are a Lawyer, your test of being a Lawyer is when you are confronted with a complicated legal issued and you are able to develop a legal theory. Where is Dr Bawumia and what economic theory are we using to run the country?

“Are we using the Walewale Adam Smith theory, because simply the Vice President who is the leader of the economic management team appears to have lost control of the wheel, it’s as though we are on our own, nobody cares about us”, she asserted.

Lawyer Beatrice made these remarks on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

She was sharing her views on a discussion about the current challenges in the country which is badly affecting the citizens.

Ghana’s economy is currently struggling with rising cost of living for the ordinary Ghanaian.

Fitch, a credit rating agency, has further downgraded Ghana’s economy to “CC” from “CCC’.

Government and its spokesperson have maintained that the Russia-Ukraine war and the Covid-19 pandemic are the cause of Ghana’s economic crisis.

Vice President Dr Bawumia, who was touted as Ghana’s economic messiah prior to 2017, has not publicly spoken about the current crisis facing the country.

This is what is perhaps pushing Lawyer Beatrice Annan to question his widely hyped economic prowess.

“Your currency has depreciated so much for a man who bragged, the man who told us that he was the economic talisman to our economic issues, today he is not even as potent as paracetamol to cure the ache that we are facing in our economy”, she said.
