Alan and Bawumia can’t stop me from becoming NPP flagbearer – Kennedy Agyapong

Maverick politician and businessman, Kennedy Agyapong says he is unfazed by the emergence of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Trade and Industry Minister John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten to contest the flagbearer slot of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).

He is optimistic he has what it takes to beat the two heavyweights who have been tipped by political analysts as frontrunners for the race

The NPP after the exit of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is not eligible to contest any election as enshrined in the 1992 constitution, is expected to hold its national delegate conference to elect a new flagbearer to lead the party in the 2024 general elections.

Both Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Minister for Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten among others have unofficially expressed interest in succeeding President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

However, Mr. Kennedy who happens to be the third force in the race reveals that he is catching the eye of many Ghanaians, especially the youth.

He has also said it severally that, he is in to help the youth in the development of the country if he is given the mandate to manage the affairs of the state.

Speaking to MAK TV in an interview, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong categorically stated that, he will beat his contenders in the race to be the next flagbearer of the NPP.

“I’m not afraid of Alan and Bawumia. Because at the end of the day we’re all going to campaign on whatever each of us has done for the party. I know I’ve done a lot of things for NPP and I believe the grassroots will consider that and vote for me”, he added.

The NPP is also looking forward to ‘Breaking the 8’ but Kennedy believes that the party can do it if only delegates give him the mandate by voting for him to lead the party in the 2024 general elections
