Source on UTV midday news, some Group identifies itself as Friends of the Colonel KWADWO DAMOAH, the embattled Commissioner for Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority appeals to president to reconsider decision of sacking of the officer
They see the dismissal of the embattled corrupt Commissioner as a calculated attempt by some figures in the NPP party to put the hard won reputation of the commissioner into disrepute. According to the group, president Akufo Addo has commended all his appointees to be hardworking so they cannot fathom why the current decision.
They further states that the commissioner is able to exceed his targeted revenue mobilization in the years 2019-2021 so the decision to sack him baffles their mind
Some members of the group said, if reinstating him in the same office cannot be possible, they are appealing to president to reconsider the sacking decision and offer him a different appointment elsewhere. They said this will rekindle the spirit of the party faithfuls in the Jaman area to work hard to win the 2024 elections for the party since most party faithfuls in the Constituency and the Bono Region as a whole look up to him so his sacking will kill the strength of the party in the region.
They continued that, the special prosecutor deliberately wanted to dent the good image of the ‘corrupt’ commissioner because no court of competent jurisdiction has tried the commissioner to implicate him so for the special prosecutor to call out that the commissioner as corrupt is unfounded.
The embattled corrupt Commissioner for Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority Colonel KWADWO DAMOAH was relieved off his duty by the president to enable investigation be conducted into an allegation of corruption put on him.
