JUST IN: Trouble As NDC Chairman Picked Up By The Police

The Northern Regional Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Rufai Vielim is in Police custody over disturbance in the Region.

The Regional Vice Chairman was picked up by Police in connection with an attack on the Regional party office of the NDC on Tuesday by some irate youth of the NDC in the Tamale Metropolis.

The irate youth besieged the NDC Regional office amidst gun shots and destruction of properties at the Party office.

The action by the irate youth is as a result of a decision by the Regional Executives to appoint Adolf Ali as acting Regional Chairman after the demise of the Regional Chairman.

According to reports, the Vice Chairman was picked this evening, whiles his house was searched by the security.

NDC members in the Region are divided over who should take over the Chairmanship of the Party in the Region.

Whiles some section of party members believed that, the Vice Chairman should take over, others think that, a different person should be made to take over.
