My attention has been drawn to a news item or an article published by the knustnews.com, headed “WHY CHAIRMAN OFOSU AMPOFO MUST BE MAINTAINED AND RETAINED FOR THE BETTERMENT OF NDC”
I have read the contents of the piece on social media and wish to state that, that is certainly not my handiwork neither have I authorized it. By my nature I do not engage in the use of such language even against my bitterest opponents let alone a working colleague. I also know in any contest there may be some very enthusiastic supporters who may go over board, all in an effort to lend support to one contestant or the other, but I would not subscribe to any such thing.
I therefore disassociate myself from that write up as it does not represent my nature as a peace loving person and a unifier.
In that regard I appeal to the authors for the withdrawal of the publication and cessation of further publications of any such pieces of writings.
Ours is an internal contest and does not call for such attacks on any party member who would like to contest.
I therefore demand cessation by all supposed supporters whose actions may generate disunity rather than uniting us. I stand for unity in the NDC and our collective objective should be to win 2024 for the NDC. This we can achieve by avoiding tension and any unnecessary friction within the party.
