The New Patriotic Party has gone through reorganisation and restructuring of through elections from polling stations to National level as the party’s constitution stipulates in every four years.
It is obvious and there is no shred of doubt that through this elegant exercise either aspirants or their followers hurt each other. It is indispensable for the party to take time to call on all winning and loosing candidates, council of elders, patrons, government appointees and the rank and file of NPP in each constituency, region and national to reconcile.
On Sunday August 21, 2022, Nkoranza South NPP held a colourful and systemized meeting themed, “reconciliation and restructuring”. Dignitaries who honoured the auspicious occasion were; the regional chairman Hon. Ibrahim Baba Bukari, regional minister Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan, frm. regional minister Hon. Kofi Amoakohene frm. regional chairman Hon. Thomas Adu Appiah, Frm. DCE/mp/dep. education and energy minister Hon. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi Abodwese.
The creditable persons mentioned could not be the only people who made the occasion flamboyant. Others upright persons included; regional secretary Hon. David Yaw Boakye, regional women’s organiser Hon. Sophia Afiriyie Danso, regional communications director Hon. Amoah Sampson, frm. Mp for Nkoranza South Hon. Charles Kunadu Yiadom, frm. Parliamentary aspirant for Nkoranza South Hon. Eric Effah Donyina, Nkoranza South present and past constituency executives, loosing constituency executive aspirants, council of elders and patrons, electoral area coordinators and all stake holders of the party.
The principal speaker, Hon. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi Abodwese, excavated deeply into all matters that has bred or may breed pains, hatred, negligence of duty among others causing apathy which is likely to break the front of the party in 2024.
He called on all constituency executives of Nkoranza South one after the order to explain to them the expectations and challenges ahead on the various positions they occupy. It behoves on them to call on past and loosing aspirants on deck. He reprimanded all forms of behaviours by the executives that will knock down the success Nkoranza South NPP, Bono East and Ghana at large
“No individual can do it alone on the positions you hold. Some people have been there, there are others who wanted to be there, bring them all on board. All these persons have unique ideas and services to contribute for the magnification of the party. It is only a privilege that you have had over them. Do not be corrupt by power, sideline nor neglect others in performing your duties. He reiterated that, if others begin to feel that they are trivial and not recognised in the party, that is when they will sabotage and watch you fail. If anyone of us fails the party fails”.
Hon. Ampofo Twumasi Abodwese also admonished that past executives and aspirants who could not make it should not behave as reserved prayers. It is obvious that reserved prayers have always prayed for their playing counterparts to fail or get injured so they could also be fixed. “That prayers may only be good on the field and not in NPP. Avail yourselves for party work, if you think others failure today will pave way for you, have it in mind karma will work; your failure awaits you so others could also have theirs”
Other speakers; Hon. Toma, Hon. Charles Kunadu Yiadom, Hon. Kofi Amoakohene, Hon. Eric Effah Donyina, Hon. Sophia Afiriyie Danso, Mr. Effah Kwarteng, Hon. MCE who was the MC for the program and all others shared their experiences and services to the party and threw more light on why everyone must forgive each other and work hard for the party and government to break the 8 year jinx.
Hon. Thomas Adu Appiah, former Brong Ahafo and Bono East NPP regional chairman seazed the opportunity to wholeheartedly voiced that he holds an intimate relationship with current regional chairman Ibrahim Baba Bukari and that must continue going forward. He accentuated that through the regional electioneering campaign, current chairman IB, did not upset him however, followers and supporters on one way or the other infringed into the regional elections there were actions and inactions from the camp of his brother that infringed on him pains. In response, Hon. Ibrahim Baba Bukari rendered unqualified apology to the former for hooting at him at kintampo. He described such behaviour as barbaric and one which is not condone in NPP. He condemned admonished that never again should such behaviour happen.
The two willingly embraced each other to show reconciliation.
