Host of Newsfile show on Joy News, Samson Lardy has sent some bothering messages to President Akufo Addo.
Speaking on Newsfile show this morning, the journalist stated that the president should take the advise his ministers such as Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu are telling him. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu believes that the country should reduce the number of ministers to 19. Samson Lardy further added that research even reveals that 20 ministers can run the country.
Aside this, he urged the president to reduce the number of staffers at the presidency. He believes that most of the ministers and staffers in government are just there to receive salaries without any ‘better’ work done. He believes that some of the appointees must willingly resign because they have failed to perform their duties.
Speaking about the hardships on the Ghanaian economy, Samson made it clear that the president should never blame Russia- Ukraine war or Covid-19 for bringing hardships on the Ghanaian economy. According to him, the country was in hardships before these occurrences happened.
“You started on such a disastrous note, with a historic blotted government of over a hundred and dozen ministers for a poor country like ours. We justified it, but history will not forgive you on that”
“You created six new regions for the benefit of it ignoring the emerged burden it brings to the public purse. You ignored every advise to solve 8 to 10 billion cedis banking crisis with a whopping ¢25 billion. It is not surprising that the World Bank said that things were getting bad even before the global problems set in” he stated.
Samson Lardy, a presentee at Joy News usually use 10 minutes of his morning show to hit hard on government. He believes that the depreciation of the currency is not a normal thing. He is urging the president to fix that issue as soon as possible before it is too late
