‘Why the rush?’ – NPP Regional Youth organizer questions ALAN and BAWUMIA supporters

Western North Regional NPP Youth Organizer, Hon Gabriel Doh, has condemned supporters of Alan Kyeremateng and Dr Mahamudu Bawumiah for being in a haste to approve a flag bearer for the party ahead of the 2024 election when it is not yet time.

On Saturday, August 13, 2022, pro-Alan activists in the Ashanti region organized a peaceful ‘Alan aduru woso’ health walk expressing their support for Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremateng as the next flag bearer for the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 general election.

During the health walk, Hopeson Adorye, a one-time Parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party who’s also alleged to be the operations director of Alan Kyeremateng’s campaign team, made a comment which attracted many views

According to Hopeson Adorye’s comment, Northerners are not fit for the presidency, but running mates hence Alan Kyeremateng should be elected as the next flag bearer for NPP over Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Sharing his view on this comment, the Western North Regional NPP Youth Organizer, Hon Gabriel Doh, has said this comment is very unfortunate and uncalled for.

“The party constitution state that when the party is in opposition, the flag bearer should be elected 2 years to the general election, but when the party is in power, the flag bearer should be elected a year to the general election,” he told Nokware Fm in an interview.

“Moreover, the party is yet to give room for nominations, so why the rush?” the Youth Organizer quizzes.

He cautioned Hopeson Adorye to desist from these comments because NPP is never tribalistic but rather a party for all, hence he should not create a tribal difference with his sole comments.

Hon Gabriel Doh finally advised NPP members to be cautious of their activities, otherwise ‘Breaking the 8’ will not be a reality but a mere slogan.
