Kevin Taylor, one of Ghana’s outspoken journalists has once again hit hard on the NPP administration.
During his live Evening show program titled ‘With All Due Respect’ show, Kevin Taylor sent some messages to Kwesi Kyei Darkwah, popularly known as KKD.
Kevin Taylor made it clear to KKD that he should stop the ‘ranting’ that the government of Ghana is involved in some practices that is wasting parts of the resources of the country. According to Kevin Taylor, what KKD should have said was that Ghanaians should not vote for the NPP government coming election 2024. He added that Ghanaians are aware of what the government is doing to them, but they need some convincing and supporting voices to tell them to vote against such party.
“The captain(Akufo Addo) is who you are supposed to direct your missiles to and let people know and tell Ghanaians that they should vote against this government. The ranting and the grammar won’t help because at the end of the day, what people wanted to hear was that; this is a bad government”
“The president of the republic has disappointed everyone. He is corrupt because because he is the one who appointed Ken Ofori Atta and he knows what Ken Ofori Atta has been doing for the past six years. KKD was supposed to clearly say that Ghanaians should vote against the NPP”
Kwesi Kyei Darkwah made a statement on 17th August, 2022, during a live interview on GTV. During the conversation, he made it clear that while the country gets poorer through loan activities, some businesses and individuals are getting richer.
“I read a report yesterday that broke my heart. I saw how much Ghana owes but I also found that apparently, the minister of finance’s company or former company, is the transaction advisor to the monies we borrow. So, as Ghana gets poorer, the minister of finance’s company or former company gets richer” he said.
This comment has generated several reactions because what he said was the truth. This is not the first time Data Bank is involved in such activities. These activities are part of the loaning processes in the country.
Anytime the government of Ghana goes for loan from the international market, there is the need to have some financial advisors around. These advisors could be banks, local lawyers and international lawyers. However, what has called for much attention is that these advisors have their own percentage or share in the loans the government have contracted to help the country. Data Bank has been the most benefiting company for the past six years as they are involved in all transactions of government borrowing.
