Don’t think of breaking the 8 when economic fundamentals are weak – Wereko-Brobby tells NPP

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby has told the governing party to forget about breaking the 8-year-electoral cycle and focus on addressing the economic challenges facing Ghanaians.

“Democracy is not just about elections,” he stressed.

He added “the fundamentals have all gone wrong, why will you waste time thinking about breaking the 8? You have failed to achieve your task and your failure is enough to jettison you from office.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo earlier said the NPP was determined to break the 8 in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the delegates conference of the NPP at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday July 16, Mr Akufo-Addo said “Breaking the 8, we shall in 2024.”
