Kennedy Agyapong Is An Alien In NPP Government- Boabeng Asamoah Starts Fresh Beef

The national communications director for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has started a fresh beef with the Assin Central legislator Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. According to Yaw Boaben Asamoah who is also the MP for Adenta constituency, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is an alien in the government of Nana Akufo Addo. He made these remarks during a panel discussion on TV3 New Day show monitored by CitizenOne.

According to the NPP legislator, Kennedy Agyapong does not speak for NPP neither is he a member of the government. He said whatever Kennedy Agyapong says remains his opinion and not the position of the party or the government. When asked by the host, Johnnie Hugues if that was not too harsh, Boaben Asamoah who has been in the bad books of the presidential aspirant said he is unapologetic of his comments. He said the truth is always the truth and that is Kennedy Agyapong is just an MP and nothing more

This was in response to comments made by the maverick Assin South legislator to the effect that going to IMF is like handing over power to the NDC without a contest.

Speaking at a constituency executives welfare conference in Koforidua, Hon. Agyapong said he was disappointed that Nana Addo government has decided to go to IMF. According to him, going to IMF has been the demand of John Mahama because that is what NPP used to defeat him in 2016.

Kennedy Agyapong added that going to IMF means NPP communicators including himself have to swallow their words that only an incompetent government will run to IMF for bail out.

“Mark my words. Going to IMF is like handing over power to the NDC without a contest. I will say it. What else are we going to say. John Mahama has been asking us to go to IMF because he knows we will lose the election if we go to IMF. Now he has gotten what he wants”, Kennedy Agyapong fumed.

But the communications director thinks NPP will still win 2024 election after going to the IMF
