The Member of Parliament for Jaman North constituency, Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick, has revealed that all pending projects in the district that commenced in his tenure as Member of Parliament will continue immediately after the government releases the District Assembly Common fund indicating that it is the only source of funding for his projects in the district.
Hon. Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick, during his 2020 elections campaign cited a lot of projects he would be embarking on when he was given the nod as an MP for the district; health, education, security, agriculture, economics, youth and sports, and the provision of social amenities among others for the constituents, to promote the development of the district.
After winning the seat in the 2020 general elections, Hon. Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick commenced some of his campaign promises which included the construction of a Town Park to support sporting events, the construction of Chips Compound, and the renovation of some abandoned projects within the district which were hitherto halted after the former MP, Asum Ahensah Alexander lost in the 2012 elections.
All these projects, after their inception, have been suspended due to lack of funds which has created a lot of concerns within the district.
While reacting to this concern in an interview with Yankee FM’s Morning Show dubbed ‘Yankee in the Morning’ hosted by Odiakopa Afram Denkyirahene, the MP indicated that all the pending projects in the district will see a facelift after the government releases the Assembly Common Fund since that is the only source of funding for his projects.
Hon. Ahenkwaa Yaw Frederick stressed that all monies for his developmental projects rely on the Assembly Common Funds which is facing a lot of challenges by way of disbursement. He revealed that the government had still not completed the payment of the 2021 Common Funds since the 4th quarter is still pending hence the delay in his projects.
