NPP diagnosed Ghana’s problems in 2016 but failed to resolve them – Nana Akomea

Former Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akomea has confessed that although his party identified that there was a systemic problem that needed to be addressed prior to the 2016 polls, it has failed to engage in the radical things they promised to do to change the system.

His comments comes on the back of criticisms of the current government’s abysmal performance after promising the people of Ghana heaven on earth but failed to deliver.

“It is very clear that there is a systemic problem that we need to deal with. We identified it and then we come and we are not able to do the radical things that we need to do.”

He noted that the rate of inflation has gone higher and by now he expected that Parliament would have brought the various agencies in charge of Ghana’s finance sector to dialogue about what is happening in the country.

“People need an explanation, People need assurance and if Parliament is at the forefront of providing that accountability. I’m amazed…the last time I think I heard the government statistician and he said that it was strange and they were trying to see what was happening,” he said on Good Morning Ghana.
