Election 2024 is not for gambling; John Mahama is leading us – Yamoah Ponko

Leading Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejisu-Juaben Mr. Afrifa Yamoah Ponko insists his party cannot stand the chance of gambling by changing John Mahama as the flagbearer ahead of the 2024 polls

“John Mahama is the one going to lead us. I’m stressing that he is the one leading us. We are not going to gamble. In politics sometimes you gamble sometimes you don’t have to. John Mahama is the one we are going to choose to lead”, Mr. Yamoah Ponko said in an interview with Pure FM monitored by MyNewsGH.com.

According to Mr Yaoah Ponko, the decision of making Mahama lead the party is to get people who can talk to make the party visible so that, Ghanaians will bring back the NDC to bring the country back to the right path.

He further indicated that his statement about Mahama leading the party in the next election does not mean the party is not going to allow other interested people to contest.

“Even if others should contest, John Mahama will win not less than 90% of the total votes cast”.

“We are not going to make that mistake at all by changing him. If anyone gets the chance to speak to party members and talk about the party changing John Mahama that individual would receive beatings. That is true talk”, Yamoah Ponko warned.
