We only earned GhC 20 after Campaigning for the NPP – Actress Mama Kali

Ghanaian Actress based in Kumasi, Ama Boahemaa popularly known as Mama Kali has said she’s only earned GHC 20 after campaigning for the NPP in 2016. The actress said her reason for joining the NPP was due to the economic hardship in the country being so severe, and the movie industry was on the verge of collapse under the then John Mahama’s government. She hence saw it as a priority to unite with her colleague actors to push the agenda of the current Government.

In an interview monitored by seancity.net, she said that during the campaign the leaders told them there was nothing in the campaign when unknowingly, they were given some monies to share. “We earned Gh¢ 20 and even sometimes Gh¢ 10 after leaving our kids behind to campaign for Npp during the 2016 elections”, she said, adding that, “we fought and worked harder but the rewards for our works was too sad that our kids were not even in support”.
