Renowned broadcaster with Oyerepa FM in the Kumasi Metropolis, Nana Yaw Mensah Joel has called on all media outlets in the Ashanti region to fully demand promised interchanges from the Akufo-Addo led government.
Recall that, Road Minister Akwasi Amoako Atta under the Akuffo Addo led administration has pledged several times to construct 5 interchanges in Kumasi. Thus: Suame roundabout, Santasi Roundabout, Oforikrom – Anloga junction, Ahodwo roundabout and Bekwai roundabout (KATH) respectively.
“In the second term, Kumasi and Ashanti will have 5 interchanges; the people of Ashanti, be confident and be happy that the President is looking after the nation in all aspects….” Akwasi Amoako Atta told the press during a working visit to the Ashanti region in March 2021.
However, nothing has been done about the projects. As a result, the host of the Oyerepa Breakfast show says the region lacks lots of developmental projects and among these are interchanges promised by the Road Minister Akwasi Amoako Atta.
According to him, the numerous promises made by the NPP government have not been fulfilled, therefore he is urging all media houses within the region to rise up and press for these projects.
He, further stated that media houses within the region should be summoned to the Manhyia Palace if they fail to rise up and firmly demand all promised projects for the development of the Ashanti region.
“Let’s all (media) rise up without fear or favour and demand from the government what belongs to Ashanti region, “he said on Oyerepa Breakfast.
