Jaman South Npp Chairman Denies His Chairmanship Position In Court

HENFORO DENIES IN SUNYANI HIGH COURT HAVING BEEN ELECTED NPP CONSTITUENCY CHAIRMAN FOR JAMAN SOUTH

1. Honourable Andrews Bediako, MCE for Jaman South Municipality, and Henry Afful aka Henforo have been hauled before the Sunyani High Court for contempt for wilfully disobeying the Orders of the court dated 4th May, 2022.

2. It may be recalled that three members of the NPP in Jaman South Constituency have sued the NPP, the Electoral Commission and 9 Others before the Sunyani High Court seeking to annul the decision to maintain the old polling station Executive in Jaman South, and other related reliefs.

3. In the course of the action, a motion ex-parte was filed for injunction to restrain the Respondents from conducting the Jaman South Constituency Executive elections.

4. By an order dated 4th May, 2022, the High Court, Sunyani placed an injunction on the conduct of the Constituency Executive elections in Jaman South.

5. Despite the order of the court, Honourable Andrews Bediako and Henforo participated in the conduct of the Constituency Executive elections at Dwenem.

6. In the illegally conducted elections, Henforo was elected the Chairman of the Jaman South Constituency. This is a notorious fact.

7. The Plaintiffs/Applicants filed a motion against the MCE and Henforo for contempt at the sunyani High Court. The case came off for hearing today, 18th May, 2022. The respondents lawyer couldn’t come to court today.

8. In paragraphs 12 and 13 of Henforo’s Affidavit in Opposition (defence), he expressly denied having been elected Chairman of the Jaman South Constituency.

9. In fact, both respondents claimed in their defence that they have never been aware that any Constituency Executive Elections had been conducted in Jaman South Constituency.

10. The case has been adjourned to 27th May, 2022 for hearing. We wait to see how the case unfolds.
