John Boadu, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has a message for members who may want to sue the party over “any frivolous” issue.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) opened nominations for Constituency Executive elections on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Following that, from April 28 to May 2, 2022, the party will elect new officers.
In the midst of the impending internal elections, the ruling NPP has been ordered by the Kumasi High Court to refrain from holding any elections in the Kwadaso Constituency until the outcome of a suit challenging the party’s primary in the constituency.
John Boadu said in a one-on-one interview on Peace FM’s ‘The Platform’ program: “Some members of the party have taken the party to court over minor issues… yes, the party claims to have grievance procedures. Maybe you couldn’t exhaust them or don’t trust the system, but that depends on the importance of the issue. For example, if you take a party to court over a frivolous issue, you can be taken to the disciplinary committee after the case is settled “..
“I’m not saying you don’t have the right to go to court but if we later realize that the issue can be solved by the party, we will deal with you . . . ” he added.
