Isaac Amoako, a member of the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) E-Levy Technical Committee, has stated that ATM withdrawals are exempt from the e-levy.
“If you use checks, no e-levy will apply,” he added.
On Saturday, April 16, Mr. Amoako said these on TV3’s Key Points with host Dzifa Bampoh.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta previously stated that the e-levy will be implemented in May of this year.
He stated that the Controller and Accountant General (CAGD) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), who will be the revenue collectors, have assured him of this.
“We had some meetings with the Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and they said they should be able to put their system together right at the beginning of May,” he told TV3’s Roland Walker in Parliament on Wednesday March 30 after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo delivered the State of the Nation Address.
The E-levy was approved by Parliament on Tuesday, March 29, after the Minority walked out.
