I write as the Communications Officer of the NDC in the Greater Accra Region to wish our Muslim compatriots across the country, especially in the Greater Accra Region a happy and a successful 2022 Ramadan period.
As the holy ritual commences tomorrow, we do appreciate the enormity of sacrifices our Muslim brothers and sisters will have to endure during the month long Fasting, for the peace and stability of the world and Ghana not an exception. On behalf of the entire Greater Accra Regional Secretariat therefore, I wish to declare our resolve to support our Muslim compatriots as they observe this holy month of Ramadan.
Permit me to further express our appreciation of the significance and the sacredness of the month as endorsed by the Holy Quraan and quoted as follows;
“The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful”. – ( Quraan Chapter 2 vs 185)
This is again consolidated by the Holy Prophet Mohammed(SAW) as he was quoted in the Hadith to have said;
Allah says, “The fasting person has left his food, drink and desires for My(Allah) sake. The fast is for Me(Allah) . So I will reward the fasting person for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times.”-(Sahih al-Bukhari, 1894, In Book 30, Hadith 4.
This is quite admirable and on this note, I wish to declare our resolve to associate ourselves with all the virtues of Ramadan and pray that, all the obligations of the ritual would be observed to the glory of Allah.
Once again, I wish all Muslims a happy and successful 2022 Ramadan period. Thank you
Signed.
