Border reopening is a well-fought battle – MP Jomoro

Dorcas Affo-Toffey, a member of Parliament from Jomoro, applauded the President’s move to open the land borders.

The people who live in border communities have suffered greatly as a result of the border closures, she said.

“Today is a particularly thrilling day for me because it’s been a hard-fought battle.” We have struggled for a long time, and today is the day that the land boundaries will be reopened; it is a joyful day, and I thank God for it.

“It hasn’t been easy for the inhabitants and constituents, but he makes everything lovely in his time.” “I think I’ll be quite delighted today because the land borders are restored,” she told media on Monday, March 28.

On Sunday, March 27, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced that all land and maritime borders had been opened.

“Fully vaccinated travelers would be granted admission through land and sea borders without having to pass PCR and Antigen tests in their destination country.”

“Citizens and foreign residents in Ghana who have not been properly vaccinated will be required to undergo a 48-hour PCR test before to arrival and will be offered immunization at the point of entry,” he added in his 28th Covid-19 update.

He also stated that travelers who are fully immunized will not require PCR or Antigen Tests.

“Fully vaccinated tourists will not need PCR and Antigen Tests from the place of embarkation to allow them access into the country through the KIA,” he declared in his 28th Covid-19 address to the nation on Sunday March 27.

“Non-vaccinated citizens and foreign residents in Ghana will be required to do a 48-hour PCR test prior to travel, an antigen test upon arrival, and will be given vaccination at the KIA.”
