You cannot intimidate us at Walewale – NDC to North East Regional Minister

The opposition National Democratic Congress, the NDC in Walewale in the North East Region have served notice of their readiness to face off with the Regional Minister should he, the Regional Minister dare, to touch their Party Office.

In a Press release signed by the North East Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Imoro Abdul-Razak Zakvilla responded to what he described as a ”reckless statement” by the Regional Minister at the Wunaaba’s 20th Anniversary Celebration.

The North East Regional Minister is alleged to have instructed the Municipal Chief Executive for the West Mamprusi, Hon Arimeyaw Somo Lucky, to demolish the party office of the NDC with the claim that the said party office is on a government land.

According to the NDC Regional Communication Officer, the Party has all documents duly signed by various authorities to prove that the claim by the Regional Minister is a false statement and a calculated attempt to intimidate the NDC in the Walewale constituency.

The Regional Communication Officer of the NDC urged the Regional Minister to rather channel his energy towards combating rampant armed robbery cases and the general insecurity in the area.

”The NDC in Walewale Constituency will rather want to encourage the Regional Minister to channel his energy towards combating the rampant armed robbery and the general insecurity in the area” he stated

”The Regional Minister should however be assured failure to heed to this advise and the perpetuation of this reckless threats will engender a fearless resistance from the NDC in the Walewale constituency. We are ready to protect the structure and our Chairman at the peril of lives” he added

PRESS CONFERENCE

27th March, 2022.

BAWUMIA’S PUBLIC OUTBURST AT THE WUNAABA’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the press. We thank you for your swift response to our distress call. This press briefing is called at the behest of the Walewale Constituency NDC, to appropriately respond to the reckless comments made by the North East Regional Minister Hon Yidana Zakaria who spoke on behalf of the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Wunaaba at the D/A Primary “A” school in Wungu.

Ladies and gentlemen of the media, this reckless statement is a clear indication that the Regional Minister at the behest of the Vice President now wants to escalate the state of insecurity in the constituency.

In their quest to intimidate the NDC in the Walewale constituency, they falsefully claimed an accusation of assault against our constituency Chairman, we are not surprised as it is akin to the intimidation being meted out to our National Chairman.

Speaking on behalf of Dr Bawumia at the Program, the Regional Minister instructed the West Mamprusi Municipal Chief Executive Hon Arimeyaw Somo Lucky to demolish the party office of the NDC with the claim that the said party office is sitting on a government land. The claim that the NDC office is sitting on a public land is a complete falsehood because the NDC has all documentation to authenticate ownership of the land with the said documents duly and fully signed by all the concerned chiefs.

However, the NDC in Walewale Constituency will rather want to encourage the Regional Minister to channel his energy towards combating the rampant armed robbery and the general insecurity in the area. The Regional Minister should however be assured failure to heed to this advise and the perpetuation of this reckless threats will engender a fearless resistance from the NDC in the Walewale constituency. We are ready to protect the structure and our Chairman at the peril of lives.

Signed:
Imoro Abdul-Razak Zakvilla
Regional Communication Officer/NDC
North East Region.
