The Member of Parliament (MP) for Wenchi Constituency, Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna has presented five desk top computers and accessories to Presbyterian School in his constituency.
At a short ceremony to present the items, the Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Seidu Haruna said, the school has groomed a lot of people in the Constituency, aside that, it will enable the students learn ICT well in the Constituency as it is in Accra and the other places in the Country where Computers are available for students because at the end, it is the same examination questions that will be giving to the Candidates across the country, hence the donation.
“It is very pathetic to see teachers drawing computer parts on the board during ICT lessons in this modern world” the Member of Parliament bemoaned lack of ICT facilities in public schools across the country.
He said his administration and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will continue to support the school and promised to do more for the school.
The Law Maker advised the students to take their education seriously because education, he stated, is the key to success and urged the teachers to take good care of the computers.
Mr David Barfoe, the Public Relations Officer of the Wenchi Educational Directorate, on behalf of the Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Mary Nyarko Adutwum, received the computers and handed over to the District Minister who double as the PA Chairperson for Presbyterian Church and the school respectively, Reverend Amankwa Okra to be giving to the school.
The Public Relations Officer, expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Wenchi and further appealed to other stakeholders to emulate the example of the MP.
