Sunyani High Court places injunction on NPP elections

The Sunyani High Court at its sitting today, Monday, February 28, placed an injunction on the ongoing internal election processes in the Sunyani East constituency.

In a writ filed by four aggrieved members of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Sunyani East constituency, these petitioners amongst other things, prayed the Sunyani High Court to temporarily injunct the ongoing electioneering processes.

According to these petitioners, the constituency Executive members of the party have deliberately denied them of contesting in the upcoming polling station elections by rejecting their nomination forms at the close of the opening of the nomination forms.

After pockets of brawl amongst sections of NPP members across the country on allegations of deliberately denying them of nomination forms, the National Chairman, Mr Freddy Blay, at a press conference on Monday, February 21, extended the deadline of the closing date by one day at places where there were these brawl.
