Mahama discusses controversial E levy with Head of European Union

The Former President of Ghana and the 2020 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, the NDC has revealed discussing the E levy with Ambassador Irchad Razaaly.

Ambassador Irchad Razaaly, the Head of the European Union Delegation to Ghana on Tuesday, January 25, paid a courtesy call to the former President at his office.

The visit by Ambassador Irchad Razaaly amongst others, offered the Former President to have discussions on various issues of public interest on the continent of Africa.

Former President Mahama on his facebook page indicated that the discussions were on various sectors.

”Our discussions centred on a number of issues including the raging political instability in the West African subregion as a result of a number of coup d’états, increasing banditry and terrorism especially in the Sahel”.

The former President, who has openly urged the Akufo-Addo government to have a broader consultation on the passage of the E levy revealed that he had a discussion with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Ghana on it.

”We also discussed the state of the Ghanaian economy, the controversial E-levy, education, unemployment, government’s intolerance of dissenting views among others” he wrote on his facebook page.

I received the new Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Ghana, Ambassador Irchad Razaaly, on Tuesday, and used the opportunity to wish him a successful tour of duty and thanked the EU for their continuous support to Ghana.

Our discussions centred on a number of issues including the raging political instability in the West African subregion as a result of a number of coup d’états, increasing banditry and terrorism especially in the Sahel.

We also discussed the state of the Ghanaian economy, the controversial E-levy, education, unemployment, government’s intolerance of dissenting views among others.
