The District Chief Executive for Tain in the Bono Region has blamed leadership for low women participation in decision making process.
Dr Lucy Acheampong said among the myriad challenges hindering women from taking up positions that paves way for their contributions to national development, leadership has been the major one since they have done less to improve the situation.
Gone are the days when women were kept in the kitchen but Dr. Lucy believes some feminists have help change the narrative although a lot needs to be done.
She however quizzed if women are prepaid to take such mandates?
The Chief Executive has therefore encouraged women across the country to ready themselves to occupy positions that will make their voices count in decision making process.
She again implored young women to take political roles in their youthful age to ensure full maturity in political and governance process.
She is of the view that this will build their confidence and propel them for the future task.
