A former social media executive for Zylofon Music, Gh Kwaku has revealed that defunct Gold Dealership MenzGold is currently investigating some former employees of the company due to their unbelievable prosperity.
In a social media post shared by the popular blogger, he revealed that the former employees of Menzgold are being investigated due to some plush properties they have acquired.
His post indicated that the time has come for all persons involved in the MenzGold debacle to account for their stewardship.
In the post, he fingered 12 former employees who were currently on the radar of NAM 1 over their perceived colluded actions while working for the company.
The Woes Of Menzgold
MenzGold Ghana Limited has been in news since their activities were declared illegal by the regulatory authorities.
The company’s CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah has insisted he will pay all clients whose monies have been locked up.
The organization says it is currently working at paying with bank transfers considering the deadly COVID-19 and also the move to prevent attacks from clients.
Only 2 Customers Have Received Payment– Customers Reveal
In a related development, Spokesperson for Aggrieved customers of defunct gold dealership company, Menzgold, Mr Fred Forsonhas has indicated that only two customers out of the intended 181 people on the payment list released by Menzgold have been paid.
It is recalled that in December last year 2021, Menzgold announced a new payment plan for eligible customers to receive their locked up funds from 20th December 2021 to 30th June 2022.
Due to this, Menzgold revealed that payments would be made into the bank accounts of all 181 whose full names were published in a press statement.
The leadership of Menzgold even noted that it had written to the Ghana Police Service to seek access to a designated office facility in addition to security presence to commence physical cash payment.
“With due regards to the above basis, respect for authority and as law-abiding, patriotic citizens, our company shall consequently proceed to achieve the objective of the same payment by resorting to direct bank deposits, as we happily commence our final payments phase spanning from 20th December 2021 to 30th June 2022,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Mr Forson while speaking in an interview on Atinka FM stated that out of the 181 names and accounts numbers published publicly by Menzgold, only two customers have received payments.
Going into details, he said that the two people who have received payment invested a “meagre” GHC4000 each in Menzgold, adding that Menzgold has paid GHC8000 after issuance of the new payment plan.
Fred Forson also expressed displeasure with the Ghana Police for accepting to release a designated office facility in addition to security presence to commence payment physical cash payment.
“Menzgold gave a 20th December 2021 to 30th June 2022 deadline, and if till date he has only paid GHS4000 each to 2 people, then we have a long way to go,” Fred Forson told Kaakyire Ofori Ayim.
We’ll Pressure Govt To Pay us- Aggrieved Menzgold customers
Going forward, Fred Forson said the group has resolved that it will force the government to refund locked-up funds in Menzgold.
Speaking on the same show, Fred Forson, mentioned that Menzgold cannot pay all monies locked up with them even if they are given 100 years.
He insisted that the group will do all it can for government to refund their monies to them.
“We would want to assure Ghanaians that our locked-up funds will be paid by the government since it is the fault of the government. We will force the government to pay the money. We will not relent, we have heard a number of times that government says it won’t pay us, but I know they didn’t mean what they said,” he added.
Court Issues Against NAM 1
It is recalled that last year in November, a Circuit Court judge issued a bench warrant for, Nana Appiah Mensah, and two others for failing to appear before the Adentan Circuit Court over an alleged fraud charge.
Nana Mensah, together with Gabriel Kwamigah, aka Gabby, and Eric Amponsah Bediako, aka Cana, were expected to appear before the court on the said date after the judge, Mrs Sedinam Awo Balokah, had given him and the others two days to show up in court.
The bench warrant was as a result of the three men’s failure to attend court on two occasions, having been charged with conspiracy to commit crime, to wit, defrauding by false pretence.
NAM 1 is on trial at an Accra Circuit Court for defrauding customers of his company to a tune of GH¢1.6 billion.
