We will continue to sit on money and still remain hungry – Prof Gyampo

Prof Ransford Gyampo, a political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana has said that wastage in Ghana’s economy will continue to be the major setback in Ghana’s quest to development.

The vociferous lecturer on his facebook page on January 5, 2022 posted a video of the Danish Prime Minister and the French President who were seen in public riding bycicles when the French President made his first visit to Denmark.

”Does this present any lesson for poor people who are the worst extravagant human species”? Prof Gyampo asked.

Our weak sense of priority, heightened wastage and extravagance, makes it difficult for any prescription of bicycle riding by all to and from office when necessary. But if we do, we will be healthy; we will save cost; and we will be able to save some more money to pay all public sector workers well, Prof Gyampo stated.

The Danish Prime Minister, Mr. Lars , received the French President Macron, on the First visit of the French President to Denmark.

They both rode bicycles around. Does this present any lesson for poor people who are the worst extravagant human species?

Let’s park all the V8s and only use them when traveling out of the city centers. The cost of fueling them alone can contribute to improving conditions of service of public sector workers.

Our weak sense of priority, heightened wastage and extravagance, makes it difficult for any prescription of bicycle riding by all to and from office when necessary. But if we do, we will be healthy; we will save cost; and we will be able to save some more money to pay all public sector workers well. Otherwise, we will continue to sit on money and still remain hungry.
