Cashew farmers in the Kintampo South Municipal of the Bono East region have been urged to properly dry seedlings to attract higher price.
Mr. Agyemang Kodom, Chairman for Kintampo South District Cashew Farmers Union made this appeal when he met with members in the area.
According to him, when farmers produce and sell quality cashew beans for export, it will put Ghana in a better position to compete with other producing countries for more foreign exchange.
He added “properly dried cashew can increase your earnings so adopt good practice and improve your livelihood”
Meanwhile, the minimum cashew price for the 2022 crop season has been pegged at GHC 5.
The new price announcement was held by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Tree Crops Development Authority at Viglosam Lodge, Wenchi in the Bono Region.
