Nana Akosua Duah Asor Brayie II, the Paramount Queen Mother of Sunyani Traditional Area last Saturday, celebrated the New year with Hanukkah childrens’ home in Sunyani.
Nana Duah Asor Brayie II donated Christmas consumables such as bags of rice, assorted drinks, packs of bottled water, crates of egg and undisclosed cash amount for baby and adult diapers to the management of the home.
The Queen mother also used the opportunity to interact with the children of the Home to encourage them to be of good behaviour.
The Queen mother in a brief interaction with the media indicated that her visit to the home was to put smile to the children and to let them feel recognized.
”This is to put smile on their faces and make them feel more recognized as part of the community and give them opportunities to ask questions about what is bordering their minds” she revealed.
According to the Queen mother of Sunyani, ”the donation was part of the Queen Mother’s Christmas and New Year activities”.
Nana Duah Asor Brayie II in a brief discussion with management of the home implored them to prioritize their education because children of the home could one day become responsible future leaders in the country.
The Director of the Home, Pastor Moses Asagbo, who received the donation on behalf of the home expressed gratitude to the Queen Mother for the gesture.
The director revealed that the home since its operation in 2006 had raised over 300 people to become responsible individuals in the society. He added that the home currently has 46 children with some at the universities.
