The National Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress, the NDC have called on the former President and the Party’s flagbearer for the 2020 General Election over the death of Mr Emmanuel Adam Mahama.
The National Executives used the ocassion to extend their condolences and sympathy to former President Mahama and the family on the demise of his Brother, Emmanuel Adam Mahama.
Mr Emmanuel Mahama reportedly died on the eve of New Year, Friday, December 31, 2021 after battling ill-health.
A statement issued by the office of the former president and signed by Special Aide Joyce Bawah Mogtari announcing the death, said the family would announce plans for his burial and funeral in due course.
President John Dramani Mahama on his facebook page expressed his appreciation to Ghanaians for their love shown him during this difficult time.

I want to extend my appreciation to all our comrades in the National Democratic Congress for the condolences extended to my family on the death of our brother, Emmanuel Adam Mahama. Thank you to all who accompanied us to Bole for his burial on Sunday.
We are particularly indebted to our senior comrade and Chairman of the NDC Council of Elders Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu for his presence and support.
We also want to thank Madam Chief of Staff Frema Osei-Opare, the Chief of Air Staff and the Airforce for the support to airlift the remains of our brother on Sunday.
Similarly, I thank all Ghanaians for the support and comforting words.
