I know nothing about the Techiman South shooting incident – Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah

The Member of Parliament for Techiman South constituency and one of the deputy ministers for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development has debunked the issue that he ordered for the military personnel to open fire into the crowd at the constituency collation centre on December 8.

Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah made this known on Akina Radio 100.9 a local based radio station in Techiman to appeal for support from all the constituents in the Techiman South constituency.

The Techiman South incident, which happened during the collation processes led to the killing of three persons while six other people suffered various degree of injuries as a result of a sudden sporadic shooting spree of some uniformed military personnel at the collation centre.

In a conscious effort by Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah to get the total support of his constituents, Mr Korsah has reiterated of his innocence in what is known as the Techiman South shooting incident.

”I know nothing next to the shooting incident during the collation of results at the constituency collation centre.

”The question is how can a civilian order the military to shoot into the crowd? How can i have ordered the military to do what they did as a civilian”? he added.

Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah called on the people of Techiman to rally behind him for more development.

”I am calling on everyone in Techiman South, irrespective of ones political or ethnic background, to bury our differences and rally behind me to lead for more development and projects for the constituency”.

The Member of Parliament acknowledged that the Techiman South municipality which happens to be the regional capital of the Bono East Region needed more development and more projects to commesurates its status as a regional capital.

According to the Member of Parliament, it is only through support and togetherness that will lead them to get these development, hence the call to reach out to everyone to support him in his duties as the Member of Parliament for Techiman South.
